The Committee considered a report that updated members following a request at the meeting on 12th October 2017 to consider leaving a gap in the waiting restrictions on Rochester Court to enable a resident to leave his van outside his property.

Members were mindful of the concerns of the resident but also took into account the fact that he had a driveway which could accommodate the van for security purposes even if some minor modification was required, and that it could result in more requests being made. They were also mindful of the officer's report that confirmed that leaving a gap in the double yellow lines in the vicinity of the objector's house would result in an unacceptable conflict with the footpath that leads to the adjacent school and consequent highway safety concerns for children in particular. Members were satisfied that a detailed consideration had been made into of the request but a mutually acceptable outcome could not be achieved.
