The lead officers presented the scopes for the Efficiency, Improvement and Transformation Reviews of Audit, Risk Management and Finance, Land and Property.

Members were provided with information regarding what services were included and areas that could be considered to achieve efficiencies and improvements.

Members noted the additional pressures facing the Finance section, including changes to international reporting standards.

The service would also examine the impact of simplified grant funding arrangements, and the level of financial monitoring that to which services were subject.

Work such as the centralisation of financial support to services, and asset management teams, had already been completed as a result of previous service reviews. A range of processes had already been automated, and further opportunities would be kept under review.
