The Leader of the Council gave his Forward Plan. It had been a busy period since the last Council meeting in June. Cabinet met on the 12th of July 2017 and considered:

• The 2016/17 Annual Council Plan, Xentrall and Financial Outturn Reports
• The 2016/17 Welfare Reform Update Report
• A report on Disabled Facilities Grants and the introduction of new discretionary financial assistance schemes.
• A report on The Local Economic Assessment
• The regular Economic Climate Report
• A report on Billingham Event Infrastructure
• A report on the joint investment plan with Thirteen Housing Group
• The Annual Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report
• A valuable report from the Place Scrutiny Committee on the Review of the Safety of High Rise Blocks and Externally Clad Houses in the Borough. The Leader of the Council commended the Committee for their swift action in response to his request for an immediate task and finish review following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower. They had carried out an excellent piece of work and Cabinet fully supported the recommendations made by the Committee. The report was available on egenda.

The Leader of the Council was also delighted to say that Cabinet would meet again to consider a single agenda item on the exciting developments in the restoration of The Globe. This followed the joint media announcement with the Heritage Lottery Fund and global leading theatre operator ATG last week. A summary of the plan had been prepared for Members and these were available for Members. The Leader of the Council looked forward to seeing Members at Cabinet where more discussion would take place on the plans and a film would be watched on the proposed designs.

Cabinet and Council would meet again in September. The Leader of the Council outlined that a summer of great events would take place in the Borough. The new music and comedy festival - Stockton Stages, SIRF and Billingham International Folklore Festival.
