97 REVIEW OF TEENAGE PREGNANCY
Concluded that:-

1. The Project Plan Proforma be updated to take on board Members Comments.

2. The Scrutiny Officer arrange a Seminar in May to assist Members awareness of the review issues.

3. Information as requested above be collated by the Scrutiny Officer and distributed to Members.

97Members were provided with a draft copy of the Project Plan Proforma. The Scrutiny Officer was collating written evidence for the review which would be made available to Members on the Council's Intranet site, hard copies would be made available to those that requested it. It was suggested that regular meetings be held prior to the Summer School holidays to hear oral evidence from appropriate stakeholders. It was suggested that the Select Committee members be split into smaller sub committees to collate this information.

The Scrutiny Officer suggested holding a seminar in May in order to familiarise Members with the issues to be reviewed.

Members requested information on:-

Up to date figures on teenage pregnancies in the borough
Nos. of children being adopted following teenage pregnancy.
Information/policies on terminations in other European Countries.
Children Now Magazine - Information on Strategies that have worked within Schools to reduce pregnancies
How Sex Education was performed in Schools within the Borough
Statistics showing when this matter first became a problem
