The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting and the evacuation procedure was noted. It was also noted that the Governance Officer would be making an audio recording of the meeting to assist in the drafting of minutes of the meeting.

Consideration was given to the minutes of the meeting held on 14 March 2018.

In order to inform the review, Lee Owston (Senior Her Majesty's Inspector for the North East, Yorkshire and Humber Region, Ofsted) was in attendance at the meeting. This enabled Members to receive information on Ofsted's perspective on the regional and national issue of exclusions and inclusive education.

Members received information from Academy Trusts at the meeting in March. Following the meeting, Members had undertaken visits to the schools. The notes of the following visits were provided to the Committee as follows:

- Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth

- North Shore Academy

- St Michael's / Chair of Pupil Inclusion Panel
