Cllr Norma Stephenson declared a personal non prejudicial interest in the item titled - Work Programme as she was a Member of the Youth Offending Panel.

Consideration was given to the minutes of the meeting held on 5th June 2013.

Members received an overview of the Children and Young People's Service. This included the following:-
- The Chair of the Stocktons Local Safeguarding Children Board presented the annual report of the board to Members. This included improvements for the future, key areas of work, child protection activity, child deaths, investigations of allegations and private fostering.
- A presentation from the young people from the Let's Take Action Group who explained their involvement and experience within the group and how they work within the group and with other young people there. They also detailed the different activites available to the group and the impact the group has on young peoples lives.
- Information from officers giving a service overview highlighting the key achievements of the last year, challanges and emerging issues.

The Committee thanked everyone for the information provided.
