Consideration was given to the minutes of the meeting held on 22 January 2014.

The Committee reviewed a summary of evidence that had been presented to the Committee throughout the review. The review has sought to establish how education and business can work together to ensure that learning provision matches local industry need and will focus on the 14 - 19 age group (25 years for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LDD)).

The Committee had taken evidence in relation to three stands:

- Demand
- Provision and Performance
- Participation and Support


The Committee formulated draft recommendations which sought to encourage closer working between local businesses and employers, schools and post 16 education providers.

Members would receive the draft final report at the next meeting.

Members considered the Committee's work programme and it was noted that the draft final report would be presented to the next meeting.

The Committee were asked to forward any topics they would like to review in the next municipal year for consideration by Scrutiny Liasion Forum and Executive Scrutiny Committee.
