Cllr Steve Walmsley declared a personal interest as he was a member of Cleveland Fire Authority.

The Committee were provided with a summary of evidence for the Task and Finish Review of Community Safety and Security Services. The summary included the following information:-
- Background information on the service areas covered with the review.
- Performance data.
- Community Services and Care Call/Telecare customer satisfaction feedback.
- Complaints, compliments, commendations and comments that had been received in 2011/12 and 2012/13.
- Results from the IPSOS MORI Resident Survey regarding Community Safety. Members were informed that comparative data from other North East Authorities surveys was unlikely to be received by the end of the review.

Members considered possible options for draft recommendations, which focused on:
- Supporting discussions with Tees Valley authorities regarding CCTV and community alarm services infrastructure.
- Supporting the development of Flare to enable access to the public.
- Requesting Vela monitored the impact of the review of Concierge Service.

A draft final report would be considered by Members at its next meeting, detailing draft recommendations.
