Consideration was given to the content of the draft minutes of the meeting held on 3rd September 2007.

As part of the Review of Cemeteries and Memorials - The Management of Memorials Members received evidence from the following Funeral Directors and Memorial Masons:-

J Laverick, D Knowles (T Rea and Sons), J Sisson (Co-operative Funeral Service), P Milligan (North East Granite), M Shelhorn (Stockton Memorials), J Bowes (Lords Monumentals).

Members asked the Funeral Directors and Memorial Masons specific questions relating to the review.

Members also received written evidence from members of the public and Thornaby Funerals and Dales of Thirsk Memorials.

The Chair thanked the Funeral Directors and Memorial Masons for their attendance at the meeting.

Members reviewed the Committee's Work Programme and were advised that the current review was on schedule to report to Cabinet in November.
