Members of the Committee were presented with the Work Programme for the Review of Neighbourhood Enforcement Service. The Scrutiny Officer advised Members that the Work Programme would be a standard item on future Agendas.

The Scrutiny Officer provided members with provisional dates for site visits to the Security and Surveillance Centre and dates were also offered for Members of the Committee to accompany Enforcement Officers during a patrol. The Scrutiny Officer agreed to e mail the provisional dates to members of the committee to confirm attendance. Members were also informed that staff discussion and Viewpoint focus groups were to be planned for the month of August.

The Security Services Manager delivered a presentation to Members on Security Services.

Members of the Committee discussed Fly Posting, Nuisance Vehicles, licensing issues, the relationship between the Police and the Enforcement Service and feed back from calls logged with the Enforcement Service. Members also discussed the statistics that were currently available in relation to the number of calls received at the Security and Surveillance centre. Members enquired if it was possible to produce ward specific statistics in relation to the type of calls received and where the calls originate from ie public/police/other council service. The Security Services Manager advised Members that they would investigate the possibility of producing ward specific statistics.

Members of the Committee commended the work of the Neighbourhood Enforcement Services.

Members were presented with the First Annual Review of Neighbourhood Enforcement Service report and the Financial Review of the Neighbourhood Enforcement Service.
