Members considered a report further to the one provided at the Forum's meeting on 16th January 2012, proposals for Stockton's new standards regime under the Localism Act 2011 were submitted to Cabinet on 9th February 2012. Cabinet's recommendations were then considered and agreed by full Council on 7 March. Members were provided with the report and recommendations which were presented to and approved by Council.

A new initial draft code of conduct had been developed for Stockton's members. This was considered initially by the Standards Committee on 15th March. It would then be the subject of consultation with Officers and Members, and would be reported to Cabinet and Council. Expressions of interest for the role of Independent Person (the Council had agreed to appoint one Independent Person and two reserves) were being sought. No details had been received yet regarding the proposed disclosable pecuniary interests which would carry criminal sanctions in the event of any proven failure to comply.

Members were provided with a report giving information on the Green Infrastructure Strategy. The final draft of the Stockton-on-Tees Green Infrastructure Strategy was approved by Stockton Borough Council's Cabinet on 3 November 2011.

A wide range of partners would play an important role in delivering the Strategy, and over the coming months there would be opportunities for organisations to contribute to the development of the Strategy Action Plan.

The report provided Members with some background to the Strategy; a brief overview of the document itself; and explained how the Strategy would be delivered over the coming years.

Stockton Borough Council would write to Parish Councils in the near future regarding draft project proposals.
