Darren Coulton (Admissions, Placements and Commissioning Manager) was in attendance at the meeting and presented Members with information on the following key areas:-

- Case Study: 2012 School Capacity Collection (SCAP)
- Information used and source of data
- School Capacity 2012
- The School Place Planning Information
- Capital Strategy Decisions

The main issues that were discussed were:-

- Barriers the service faced getting the right data
- Management of school numbers
- In-year transfer data
- Data that is presented to the Department for Education
- Areas of the Borough where school places are an issue

Gemma Mann (Health Improvement Manager) was in attendance at the meeting and presented Members with information on the following key areas:-

- Case Study: Fulfilling Lives - A Better Start
- Background
- Data and information used
- Key indicators
- Next Steps

The main issues that were discussed were:-

- Identification of hotspots
- National trend data
- Tees Valley Unlimited (TVU) collection of data

Paul Diggins (Improvement Manager) was in attendance at the meeting and presented Members with information on the following key areas:-

- Case Study: Local Economic Assessment
- Background
- Evidence Base
- Business
- People
- Place

The main issues that were discussed were:-

- Best use of the data available
- Use of ward information
- Possible Member training to access ward information

Kate Fulton (Business Support and Improvement Manager) was in attendance at the meeting and presented Members with information on the following key areas:-

- Case Study: Children's Centre Review (July - October 2011)
- How information was used
- Summary of data used

The main issues that were discussed were:-

- The importance of quality of data
- Possible use of a toolkit
- Targetting is taking place because of the budget position

Members requested a draft toolkit be prepared for the next meeting showing how to deal with demographic information as a starting point for discussion.
