Consideration was given to the minutes of the meeting held on 9th March 2009.

The Committee were presented with the draft report for the review of Highway Network Management.

Members discussed the draft recommendations. The Committee agreed the recommendations with a minor amendment to 1.23: that a briefing note explaining the highway-related subjects be added into the recommendations.

The Committee were presented with the draft report for the review of Pavement Parking.

The Committee discussed the draft report and requested that the questions and responses relating to pavement parking from the Member's and Town and Parish Council questionnaires included in the Highway Network Management scrutiny review report, could be added into the pavement parking report.

Members discussed the draft recommendations. The recommendations were agreed subject to minor amendments to 1.39: that Councillors could utilise the small environment improvement budgets and explore combining this with the repairs where it was possible, 1.45: that this included driving across grass areas, 1.46: that UNITE be approached to work with officers and provided advice for residents.

Members were informed that the formal meeting had ended and Members were presented with information regarding the EIT reviews that they would be undertaking for the 2009/10 scrutiny programme.
