Members were given a brief overview by the Home Safety Officer from Children’s Services.

The main topics discussed were as follows:

Home safety sessions in family hubs were still ongoing and first aid sessions were offered to parents/carers. Looking into offering family first aid in the near future where parents and children can attend a basic first aid session together.

The service has been offering bite size first aid sessions in local libraries recently which have proved positive.

Presentations had been delivered to Social Services, Midwifes and Fostering Services to update their awareness of the Service and to enable them to promote the Service.

Home Safety packs had been delivered to Pharmacies to enable them to promote the service.

The Chair opened discussion around the people who possibly do not attend A&E and only visit Pharmacies; was medication being bought and stored at home which highlighted a need for people to review medicine shelf life dates.
