Consideration was given to the minutes of the meeting held on 16th February 2010.

Mr Redfern informed the Association that he had completed talks to 1905 residents to date. He also informed that he was not getting many individual referrals through. It was noted that he had a meeting with the Police and crime levels were falling. Members asked Mr Redfern to provide them with a brief update that crime levels were falling which they could include in their newsletters.

J. Morley informed the association that there was 23 No Cold Calling Zones, 3 Doorstep Crime Zones. It was also noted that at end of February there was an additional 30 requests for No Cold Calling Zones.

Members were made aware that Falls Day would be a week long event but the main activity would take place on 23rd June 2010 using the Town Hall as in previous years. The Association made suggestions on what things they could buy to give away on the day. It was decided that the Chair and Fall Coordinator would look into buying LED push on lights. It was requested that a further meeting of the Chair, Vice-Chair and Falls Coordinator to discuss more details.

The Children's Centre Officer provided the association with examples of leaflets which were sent to families to give them helpful information about there child through the different ages. Members were informed that 90% of the Safe at Home scheme equipment for the year had been used. It was requested if anyone had advice and information regarding young people with sight problems it would be helpful, Mrs Moriarty and Mrs Weatherall were going to bring this up with Teesside Society for the Blind.

The Trading Standards Officer informed the Association that the issues with Chinese sky lanterns was raised at the North East Trading Standards Association and would also be raised at the National Trading Standards Association. Members queried that at an event taking place in Stockton had proposed that sky lanterns would be let off, trading standards would look into this further. Trading Standards had taken part in National Rogue Trader Day for the last three years and would be attending the event again on 10th June 2010. The Association were informed about someone allowing someone to knock on her door and signed into a contract for loft insulation and then realised was part of a No Cold Calling Zone.
