The minutes of the meetings held on 15th June 2010 and 27th July 2010 were agreed as a correct record.

The chair informed Mrs Moriarty that discussions with the Policy, Performance and Communication team who informed the chair that although Mrs Moriarty received information for the Disability Advisory Group in her requested format this information could not be shared with other departments within the Council. The chair stated that she was discussing matters further with the chief executive.

Mr Redfern informed the Association that he had talked to 2021 residents since the start of Doorstoppers. Members requested that Mr Redfern send some information through about Doorstoppers to put in their newsletter.

The Trading Standards officer informed the Association that they had received 19 applications since April. It was noted that some companies have knocked on doors then realised it was a No Cold Calling Zone and apologised.

The chair informed the Association that there had been two reported incidents causing injury due to sky lanterns, the chair had sent a letter to the Gazette expressing the Association's concerns.

Members were reminded that the Are You Being Served Event was due to take place on 26th October 2010. It was suggested to use the Sweets and Pills topic and also give away the coasters which the Association had made for the this and the Falls Day event earlier in the year. The Association would provide a First Aid Kit for the raffle.

The Children's Centre Officer informed the Association talks had been held with staff regarding personal safety. The area had been nominated from a member of the Fire Authority for a Community Award.

Dave Sanders informed the Association that metal thefts were still causing problems but overall crime was down. There had been incidents of theft from out of town shops. Alcohol was being stolen from supermarkets as many advertised this at the front of the shops making it easy to take.

The Trading Standards Officer informed the Association that the baby clothing that was reported at the last meeting was withdrawn. Investigations had taken place of an ironing board cover which was emitting fumes which weren't harmful but was an irritant. There was report of laser guns around the country but this had not affected Stockton.
