Consideration was given to the minutes of the meeting held on 19th October 2010.

Members agreed the minutes with a slight amendment to the item entitled No Cold Calling Zones from 'Since April 2010 they had sent out 885...' to 'Since April 2010 they had hand delivered 885...'

The Chair informed the association that Falls week begins on 20th June 2011 and it was proposed to hold the Falls Day event on 22nd June 2011 in conjunction with Yvonne Cheung and the falls team at the PCT.

Mr Redfern informed the Association that it had been a better quarter and a total of 2726 residents had received talks. The project was coming to an end in March 2011. Mr Redfern has other projects which he is involved in so would be able to provide advice and the email address would still be active.

Mr Russell informed Members that the funding for No Cold Calling Zones would come to an end in March 2011 and after this there would be no talks given or Cold Calling Zones put in place. Advice around Cold Calling would still be given via the Trading Standards team and the No Cold Calling Zones already set up would be policed.

The Children's Centre Officer informed the Association that the level of funding at this moment in time was uncertain and more information would be available after a review of services was undertaken. The contract with RoSPA would be coming to an end in April 2011 but they had received some extra equipment from RoSPA. Home Safety during the month of December was very busy compared to previous years.

The Police Officer informed Members that some departments within the Police force were being looked at for out sourcing. The Vulnerable Persons and Domestic Violence Scheme would receive future funding but there was more concentration on the domestic violence side. There were problems around paying for the fitting of equipment, Cllr Julia Cherrett was going to raise the concerns at the Housing and Community Safety Select Committee. General crime for December 2011 had decreased by 29.62% compared to December 2010 but the weather had to be taken into consideration.

The Trading Standards Officer informed Members that the company selling the dangerous lighters that had been previously reported had been taken to court and fined 3500 plus 1600 in fees. The Civil Aviation Authority had issued some guidance on Sky Lanterns which the were hoping would become legislation regarding the release of them near to airports.
