The Trading Standards Officer reported that the criteria had changed for 'No Cold Calling Zones'. The criteria now required over 50% of the residents on the street to be older and vulnerable.

Due to the lack of staff, collection of votes would no longer take place, residents would now be encouraged to phone Trading Standards to submit votes or one person in the area would collect and hand in the votes to Trading Standards.

Flash Lollies

Members were advised that a Lollypop had been sold which had a flashing toy part inside. Lights were not permitted to be sold in food so the product had been removed from sale.

Cot

Trading Standards had investigated a cot that was sold for which the mattress did not fit the frame and was a potential hazard for the child due to the space between the mattress and the frame.

Fireworks

Due to the season, Trading Standards would be issuing firework safety information shortly and would carry out test purchases.

Purse Bells

Cllr Wilburn advised that she would take delivery of the remaining purse bells from Trading Standards and distribute them at the women's meeting she attended.

National Consumer Week

Leaflets for doorstep selling would be made available.

Trips and Falls Coasters

The Trading Standards officer advised that she would check if there were any more coasters left which were produced for Falls Day. If there were any left they would be delivered to Cllr Wilburn to distribute at the women's meeting.

The Chair requested that the Secretary made contact with a representative who took over the Children Centres to see if a representative could become a member of the Stockton Home Safety Association.
