Consideration was given to the minutes of the meeting held on 25th September 2012.

Members agreed that at item 4, recommendation 3 should read 'The Trading Standards Officer will investigate if there are any more coasters from falls day.'

The Trading Standards Officer informed Members that there would be a Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) enquiry into chinese lanterns. It was National Consumer Week from 12th - 19th November and it would concentrate on cold calling. There had been testing on halloween items and there had been no failures.

The Police Officer reported that there had been an increase in crime from September but it had started to decrease again mid October. There had been the usual increase in calls and jobs on mischief night. Due to the measure put in place with the shops and supermarkets regarding not selling eggs and flour to teenagers leading up to and including the day, they were now throwing bricks and paint at cars and houses.

The Fire Officer informed the Association that there had been 2 Primary Fire's in properties in October and 14 rubbish fire's. The Fire Authority's usual Winter Warmth Campaign was running over the winter period.
