Consideration was given to the minutes of the meeting held on 11th December 2012.

It was noted that Mrs A Cains is a member of Stockton Home Safety Association so her apologies put in for the previous meeting needed to be added and then the minutes were correct.

Yvonne Cheung (Falls Coordinator) provided a verbal report on the WRVS Falls report.

Discussion took place regarding the restrictions placed on the distribution of such things as exercise DVD's until test, quality assurances were carried out and the required documents were signed off. It was observed that this prevented use and distribution of the information or equipment.

It was also observed that due to lack of training and time due to other targets, full assessments were not completed to identify people who had fallen and were at risk.

The Falls Co-ordinator advised that they should get 1000 referrals a month but only received approximately 150.

The Association felt that they should try to highlight the issue and contact the Chief Executive of North Tees Primary Care Trust to encourage action in improving the issues. The Chair advised that she would send the letter to the Chief Executive and request a response.
