Consideration was given to the minutes of the meeting held on 12th March 2013.

The annual Falls Day would take place on 19th June 2013. Arrangements would be made with Yvonne Cheung regarding attendance at the event along with the promotional material for it.

The Children's Centre Officer informed Members that events were organised in all children's centres for around Child Safety Week, the events would include the Fire Authority being in attendance to offer home safety checks and advice.

Members queried whether there was any work being done within children's centres around measles. They were informed this would be done through the health visitor and not in children's centres

The Trading Standards Officer informed the Association that the service plan proposal was to provide information regarding dangers of window blind cords.

Requests were still being received for No Cold Calling Zones and there had been a couple more approved though the consultation. There were problems regarding religious groups and charities that ignore the signs and stickers on doors. Peter Jones queried whether the zones applied for the Fire Authority when approaching people fror Home Fire Safety Visits. The Trading Standards officer informed that the Fire Authroity should post leaflets requesting that the household contacts the Fire Authority if they require the service.

Members were also informed the the following items were currently being investigated:-
- Power trainer which had electricuted someone
- Games console lead which over heated
- Toy tank adapter which was unsafe

The Association queried whether a visit could be organised to the testing centre in Middlesbrough.

The Police Officer was not present.

The Fire Officer informed Members that there had been an increase in anti-social behaviour (ASB) fires since the April school holidays. Work was underway with Care For Your Area to get rubbish moved where possible to prevent the ASB fires. The Fire Authority had also visited schools to educate children.
