Members considered a report which provided the Panel with details of the Standards Committee's current Independent/Substitute Independent Members and Parish/Substitute Parish Representatives; their appointment dates; terms of office; any review/outcome details and the expiry dates of their terms of office; together with other details regarding their service on the Committee, so that the Panel could carry out the previously agreed annual review of their appointments.

The Panel agreed that all of the members/representatives' terms of office should continue. In view of the uncertainty regarding the future of the Standards framework for Local Government, the panel also agreed that the terms of office of the four Members which would expire in 2011, should be extended to the 8th September 2012. This would minimise the need for formal appointment processes to take place for new members/representatives prior to the future of the Standards framework being clarified.
