Stockton Borough Council plan to remove a large tranche of Cobbles surrounding the Town Hall and replace them with a York Stone Circle and a æRed BrickÆ surface, as shown in their artist's impression. The Yarm Town Hall has been set amongst the Cobbles since the 17th Century. The setting of a historic building is as important as the building itself. English Heritage and the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment have repeatedly stressed the importance of understanding and conserving æthe complete pictureÆ of a given site or space.
Please sign this petition if you wish to retain YarmÆs Cobbles and thus itÆs unique character.
